So it is St. Patricks’s Day. Also known as St. Patty’s Day, St. Paddy’s Day, That day we drink green beer, etc. I normally would have posted yesterday, but I was driving across the wilderness that is Iowa.
If you haven’t driven I-80 from Nebraska to Illinois, you’re not missing much. A lot of corn fields. Some cows, one town every 37.5 miles. There are only really four large cities along the route, Council Bluffs right next to Nebraska, Des Moines, Iowa City, and the Quad Cities of Rock Island, Moline, Bettendorf, and Davenport.
Eldritch Adventures
With a lunch/gas break in there, the drive took 7.5 hours from Omaha, NE to Elgin, IL. The weather was not very pleasant. Rain for most of the morning. and then just cold. I know, what do I expect for March?
So, on the gaming front. Played a game of Civilization. Got my butt kicked. Played a couple runs of the new Fallout game from FFG, and a Tiny Epic Galaxies.
With my own games, Cyberhack is still trying to decide what form it wants to take. I’m down to adding fluff in for Via Astrum and Astra Imperia and as they are set in the same universe, the fluff is mostly the same. Eldritch Adventures is still lacking the majority of the spells. There is also a CCG type game percolating in the background. This game is based on Astra Imperia, so most of the fluff is taken care of. Project:GOLEM is still at six or so pages, and seems to be content to be that length.
So the fluff in VA/AI. Mostly it is adding to the universe. Adding in descriptions of the various worlds and such. I might put in a bare-bones type description and then offer additional supplements that go further in-depth into the location.
Eldritch Adventures is being stubborn with the magic system. I am not entirely sure what form the magic should take. The system itself is geared towards letting the player create the character they want from the ground up. Having set spells seems counter to that philosophy.
Cyberhack. This one is caught between a board game and a card game. Right now, I’m leaning mostly towards board game.
Project:GOLEM seems to be fairly satisfied mechanically. It just needs that ever-present bane of mine, fluff.
Anyways, that’s it for this week.
