So, after two years of non-action, I’ve delved back into the AI Aide program. Much of the last few hours of work has been dedicated to reading the code and regrokking it. Continue reading AI Aide
Just so you know, Stan Lee is still alive. Reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated.
So it is St. Patricks’s Day. Also known as St. Patty’s Day, St. Paddy’s Day, That day we drink green beer, etc. I normally would have posted yesterday, but I was driving across the wilderness that is Iowa. Continue reading St. Patrick’s Day
This week was a good gaming week. On the computer front, it’s been some Lord of the Rings Online. Been leveling up a couple of High Elves. On the tabletop front, Thursday was the regular game day. Continue reading Games of the Week (2/11 – 2/17)
I know, it seems a bit odd. But in this case, I have turned to writing fiction. I originally started the story as a NaNoWriMo project. But I felt I had written myself into a corner I didn’t know how to get out of. So the project got shelved for a long time. Recently, I started to write Continue reading Delving into Writing
Happy New Year!
I hope that 2016 treats you as well as or better than 2015. Also, don’t forget to make your resolutions for the new year.
So, Nuke-Con 2015 is over. 25th Anniversary of the con also. There were a lot of games run and played. I personally ran 4 games of Sentinels of the Multiverse. It seemed to go over quite well. Definitely added to the repeat run list. I also picked up Star Wars: Armada Core set, the Gladiator Star Destroyer, duplicate Nebulon-B and CR90 Corellian Corvettes, and an Imperial fighter squadron pack and Rebel/Republic fighter squadron pack. So along with the core set, I can field a 3 ship Imperial fleet vs a 5 ship Rebel fleet, with 20 fighter squadrons per side. This is something I am definitely looking into for Nuke-Con 2016.
Also got to see a bunch of old friends and meet some new ones. Got a chance to catch up with some friends and family also. If you are in the Nebraska/Iowa/South Dakota/Kansas/Missouri area, I suggest going to Nuke-Con at least once.
I’ve been participating in Johnn Four’s Game Author’s Bootcamp (https://www.gamer-lifestyle.com/rpg-product-bootcamp/) and decided on the Libram Planetarum. This will be a lightweight product detailing a number of connected worlds in a sector of space. Currently I am planning on one Libram per current empire in the Via Astrum/Astra Imperia universe.
This leads into the other vague, nebulous idea I have for a product/line. A version of an Encyclopedia Galactica. The overall idea is a zero-crunch product that is geared towards the VA/AI universe, but can be used in any game system. The product would contain political entities (empires), alien races, star ship classes, famous people (current and historical), alien critters, alien plants, and worlds. This project is way down the road though.
A note about the Bootcamp: registrations are closed at the moment. You can sign up to be alerted when they reopen.
I’ve recently begun working on a computerized play aid for Astra Imperia. This will relieve some of the book work by computerizing it. As a program of this nature is complex and I’ve only just started, there is no determined delivery date. Over on the Aurora forums, I have posted a couple screen shots of what I have currently.
